Khajuraho October 10th to 12th
November 13, 2018
Having chilled out in the yoga capital, it was time to move on and hit another cultural town, Khajuraho, known among other things for its temples, well a special type , sex temples. Despite having indulged myself to the site of many beautiful temples and thus at this stage a little “templed out”, I felt that I could not miss the opportunity to check these one out.
Khajuraho turned out to be a really relaxed cultural visit, given its small population and tranquility and sites to see. Our guest house owner Ajay also made our stay as comfortable as possible. A genuine guy who would do anything to help his guests. Together with his brother they showed us around and even cooked dinner for us! He even took me to the train station with my backpack and all!
Streets
Lotus plants
Water buffalo!
3 is a crowd.
Jain religion celebrations. Felt like being in Brasil!
In India if you are white, sooner or later someone will ask you for a selfee. Let’s say it was not the first time Mike was asked for one 🙂
Ajay just before he dropped me off at the station and on the right me picking an orange from his brother’s garden.
Temples
Western group of Temples
Amazing sculptures. So much detail and incredibly well preserved!
Eastern temples
Sadhus, holy men from Jain religion.
Food
Thali prepared by Ajay’s wife. Exquisite! Loved the fact that it was not spicey as Ajay and his family don’t eat spicey food. That’s a first in India!
